Our activity is so weather-dependent and the weather is so changeable, that our flying sessions are usually planned on pretty short notice.

If you'd like to have some company when you fly, you can easily start a flying session by scrolling to the bottom of this page and clicking on "Leave a reply" to this Topic. Just indicate the day, and time that you intend to arrive at the field, and invite other members to join you.

Or, you can "Leave a reply" to accept another person's invitation to form a flying session. People intending to join in should post a Reply, because multiple Replies fuel additional interest.

To "Leave a reply", you will need log in to the Message Board using the username and password that were issued to you. If you've lost them, you can use the lost your password functionality to trigger a password reset - if you do not see a response within a few minutes, be sure to check your Junk/SPAM folder for the password reset email.

If you are not able to complete a reset because your registered email address is not current you can either register with a new username OR Contact our Website Administrator Tim Glover <tglover51@hotmail.com> for additional assistance.

Note that new registrations require manual administrative review so there may be an additional delay if you choose this option.

Morning!
Scanning the Wind & Waves weather site and it looks pretty windy for the next few days. Grrrh! At present, the predictions for Monday are looking really promising calling for calm conditions, wind wise. I'll update on Sunday and if the prediction holds, I plan on being there about 9 am and will probably stay to 12:30 pm. The field should be in fine condition after all the rain lately.

Cheers!
Lyle

The wind is now forecast to be from the west until 5 pm, but the field forecast looks ok wind wise until noon, so going there.

Looks like it might be OK at the slope for ~3 hrs 10 am to 1 pm. I'll update early Friday if it is still looking OK.

Also plan to be at the field Monday if the forecast holds.

Andy

Morning!
Wonders of wonders, the conditions are still looking favourable for Monday morning flying at Haldibrook Road West. Very light winds coming in from the North, Northwest to Northeast. So if we do set up hi-starts, will also have a separate, electric flight line. I'm bringing my repaired Oly III hoping for a better outcome this time out! Fingers crossed! I will also bring my Radian Pro.

Cheers!

Morning!
Just conferred with the Wind & Wave site, Saturday still looks good, although there is a wee bump up in the winds around 8 am dropping down after that. It is going to hot later on so I plan on arriving around 8 am. to set up a hi-start. Probably bring the Oly III & 3M Cirrus plus my electrified 2M Spectra. Newcomer Sam Dougherty from Waterloo, may join us, so it would be nice if we could get a few members out to meet him.

Bring lots of water, shade & sun tan lotion. I will be bringing my 10' x10' shade tent plus we have the club shade tent in the flight box if anyone wants to put that up.

Cheers!
Lyle

Good Evening!
Seven fortunate members got to enjoy some wonderful flying this morning (Monday) at the Haldibrook Road West field. We had to wait a spell for the grass cutter to his job but it was worth it. Yes....a tad hot...the shade tent came in handy. Looking ahead at the Wind & Waves weather site, I am planning on being at the field on Saturday morning for some thermal mayhem! Once again the winds are predicted to be almost nil and it is expected to be only 24C. Sounds like ideal thermal seeking weather! Hope to see y'all at the field!

Cheers!
Lyle

Am going to try Westover with my Blaster 2. Winds may be a little light but I think the DLG will handle it.
Will arrive around 10:00.

Effective immediately, please DO NOT use the field. Drought conditions have made the sod susceptible to damage by people and vehicles.

Rain is in the forecast for this upcoming weekend and we *may* be able to use the field next week. Stay tuned...

Field Conditions Update!
Unfortunately, the sod at our Haldibrook flying site has not recovered enough for us to feel confident to drive on it without causing damage. It looks like there will be some rain on Thursday which should help our situation. I plan on driving out to the field on Friday morning to check on its condition and will report back.

There is more rain forecast for the weekend and the early part of next week so if the forecast holds true, I think we should be okay. Watch the message boards for further updates.

Cheers!
Lyle

Afternoon!
This posting assumes Ann Tekatch will be successful in getting permission to start using the Haldibrook Road site again on Monday!

According to the Wind & Waves forecasting site, there are a number of good looking potential flying days this coming week...Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. As I have commitments on the first two days, I'm planning on showing up early around 8 am on Friday morning. Depending on the heat and how many planes I have left to fly, I will probably hang around until 2 pm. This time I mean to get my Oly III, 3M Cirrus up on my heavy duty hi-start!

Cheers!
Lyle
