Our activity is so weather-dependent and the weather is so changeable, that our flying sessions are usually planned on pretty short notice.

If you'd like to have some company when you fly, you can easily start a flying session by scrolling to the bottom of this page and clicking on "Leave a reply" to this Topic. Just indicate the day, and time that you intend to arrive at the field, and invite other members to join you.

Or, you can "Leave a reply" to accept another person's invitation to form a flying session. People intending to join in should post a Reply, because multiple Replies fuel additional interest.

To "Leave a reply", you will need log in to the Message Board using the username and password that were issued to you. If you've lost them, you can use the lost your password functionality to trigger a password reset - if you do not see a response within a few minutes, be sure to check your Junk/SPAM folder for the password reset email.

If you are not able to complete a reset because your registered email address is not current you can either register with a new username OR Contact our Website Administrator Tim Glover <tglover51@hotmail.com> for additional assistance.

Note that new registrations require manual administrative review so there may be an additional delay if you choose this option.

@tim-g I just noticed the change in wind forecast to our favour.  I'm going out tomorrow.  The nights are cool so I'll arrive later (11:00) and stay a bit later.

SOGGI Dick Colley Big Bird Bash Sunday Sept 28

A great turnout today though a bit windier than expected and not a surfeit of thermals. But some big birds, smaller birds and lots of fun nonetheless. I counted 17 members, at least 4 guests/helpers and about 100 uninvited wasps - that left their mark on some of us.

Wayne Waddington who is an original SOGG founder/member (prior to incorporation to SOGGI) came out to see the fun and take some photos. Wayne was kind enough to take the attached group photo.

Many thanks to Lyle, Marie and Kendra for all the work to host BBQ, which was much appreciated by all, including the wasps.

Ann, sorry you could not make it and please thank our BBQ benefactor.

And Dick we were thinking of you.

Thanks all for coming out,
Andy

@andy-m:

That is a great picture of the members present for today's the event! Thanks to Wayne for providing the photographic evidence! Even though I didn't fly, I surely enjoyed watching the graceful aerobatic displays, especially with some of the larger ships! I truly enjoyed being able, with the help of my family, to provide the bbq'd hamburgers and Jumbo dogs.  The wasps were the worst I can remember, and too many of us felt the power of their sting! The one thing I forgot was to take a few moments and talk about our dearly departed friend, Dick Colley.  Maybe next year we can rectify that by taking a few minutes to say a few words.

Best,

Lyle
