Our activity is so weather-dependent and the weather is so changeable, that our flying sessions are usually planned on pretty short notice.

If you'd like to have some company when you fly, you can easily start a flying session by scrolling to the bottom of this page and clicking on "Leave a reply" to this Topic. Just indicate the day, and time that you intend to arrive at the field, and invite other members to join you.

Or, you can "Leave a reply" to accept another person's invitation to form a flying session. People intending to join in should post a Reply, because multiple Replies fuel additional interest.

To "Leave a reply", you will need log in to the Message Board using the username and password that were issued to you. If you've lost them, you can use the lost your password functionality to trigger a password reset - if you do not see a response within a few minutes, be sure to check your Junk/SPAM folder for the password reset email.

If you are not able to complete a reset because your registered email address is not current you can either register with a new username OR Contact our Website Administrator Tim Glover <tglover51@hotmail.com> for additional assistance.

Note that new registrations require manual administrative review so there may be an additional delay if you choose this option.

Morning!
It's my Friday morning update! Trying to predict the weather conditions this time of year is a lesson in frustration! However, having looked at the updates, I have decided to switch from Sunday to Monday morning! Monday looks to be the better day, warmer and winds are lower. For my first time out in the season, I prefer the lower wind speeds. Well that's the plan at this point! I will be picking Terry D up early as before and arriving at the field around 9:30 am after we hit the Skyway Cafe.

At some point you just gotta go for it!

Cheers!

Lyle

Morning!
As expected the forecast is changing as we get closer to the weekend. Friday now looks acceptable, Saturday looks better, and Sunday looks like the best! Soooo, I am planning on picking Terry D up at the ungodly hour of 7:15 am on Sunday morning, heading to the Skyway Cafe for some grub, then on to the field. I expect to arrive at the field around 9:15ish.

Paul Riedlinger has indicated he will be there as well. I will be bringing about four sailplanes to toss. It will be great to be back out on the field for the first time this season! Finally! : ) I know there won't be any lift that early in the morning, but at least we can conduct some testing.

Because it is Mother's Day, I will be packing up around 12:30 pm to head home.

Cheers!

Lyle

Afternoon:
Andy, Windfinder is calling for fairly high winds on Friday, but Saturday looks good 9-11 kph NW winds and temps around 15-18C. Soooo....once again I am keeping an eye on the forecast. I will update on Friday. Fingers crossed that the prediction holds! I have about 4 or 5 models to maiden this Spring.....

Best,
Lyle

UPDATE Fri 8:35 am. CANCELLED i have a model glitch

Update Fri 7am. The wind may be marginally low but I'll be there ~10:30

Burford is now looking a bit too windy on Friday. But Westover looks ok if the forecast is accurate. About 20-22 kph average NE. If it holds I'll get there about 10:30. Will update intention Fri am.

Monday is shaping up to be a fantastic flying day - perfect temperatures, low to moderate wind conditions and clear skies.
I plan to be at the field around 10 and will be flying electric, DLG, and line launch.

Hope to see a bunch of others out enjoying what promises to be the best day so far of flying this season.

See you there!
Tim

The weather forecast looks flyable, winds N to NW 16-25 kph and mainly sunny. So if we get a good turn out we can call it a fun fly. Essentially it will be a typical flying day at Burford.

Unfortunately Lyle is not well so we will not have our resident chef to provide a BBQ. But all being well we may do that on another weekend later in the summer.

Hope to see you tomorrow.

Andy
