Our activity is so weather-dependent and the weather is so changeable, that our flying sessions are usually planned on pretty short notice.

If you'd like to have some company when you fly, you can easily start a flying session by scrolling to the bottom of this page and clicking on "Leave a reply" to this Topic. Just indicate the day, and time that you intend to arrive at the field, and invite other members to join you.

Or, you can "Leave a reply" to accept another person's invitation to form a flying session. People intending to join in should post a Reply, because multiple Replies fuel additional interest.

To "Leave a reply", you will need log in to the Message Board using the username and password that were issued to you. If you've lost them, you can use the lost your password functionality to trigger a password reset - if you do not see a response within a few minutes, be sure to check your Junk/SPAM folder for the password reset email.

If you are not able to complete a reset because your registered email address is not current you can either register with a new username OR Contact our Website Administrator Tim Glover <tglover51@hotmail.com> for additional assistance.

Note that new registrations require manual administrative review so there may be an additional delay if you choose this option.

Evening!
Sorry for the short notice! I just got back from camping and received an email from Ann Tekatch that she lost her 2M Elements electric Sailplane somewhere west of our sod field. I plan on arriving around 8 am. and will begin conducting a search at that time.

The wind and weather looks favourable at least until noon, so I am also planning on bringing my 2M Electrified Spectra.

Cheers!
Lyle

I will join you about 8:30 -9:00, Lyle. Not sure where we can possibly search after Mike very kindly flew over the area Saturday afternoon and couldn't see it from the air. It must be in the bush or tucked away somewhere out of sight. My last view of it was over the roof of the neighbouring house to our west at a compass heading of about 296°. The last telemetry report said that it was at an altitude of about 500'. Winds were gusty from the E-ENE.

It's a red & white 2m electric Element from CLM-pro. It has my MAAC#, name, and MAAC's toll-free # as well as their website address written in two places on it. I really hope it turns up. 😱

We have good news to report! Ann's lovely 2M Element sailplane was found by none other than member, Terry Kovak, who drove to the Brant Flyers Middleport field on the way home from our Haldibrook sod field. Whilst there, he was approached by a farmer who found Ann's plane sitting in a field with his horses on Mulligan Road!! It was relatively intact and unharmed having flown all by itself for some 11 kms!!! The r/c gods have chosen to smile on Ann's predicament with an unbelievable ending! I can't even imagine the odds that her plane would be found let along still be intact!

Sometimes we need a good news story to cheer about during these stressful Covid times! : )

Cheers!
Lyle

II'm planning on being at the field for 10 if not sooner. I will have my Supra, Elf and winch if anyone want to use it. Anyone else thinking of coming?

I hope to be there as well. Will be bringing the 'runaway' Element, my Introduction F5J and if I can clean the cobwebs from it, my Supra.
