Just about to take this beast for a maiden flight but a bit too windy today. Tomorrow am probably.

16x6 light electric wooden prop data:

6S 1800 40C 7560 RPM 20.4V 43.5A 887W 91 dBA@1m

this site didn't have a 16x6 prop so graph is an approximation

Ted,
I have a 1/5 Scale Rhonbuzzard which needs to have servos, receiver and battery installed. If I have all the bits available then we can be ready fairly soon.
It would be a good test for t'ugly.

It has a new name, in the spirit of tasteless puns, the TUGly Stick.

I've just completed 5 pretend tow ups to 460-780 feet. Winds about 20km/h not a problem. It looks good to me, but then with a glider behind it, what could possibly go wrong?

Beyond about 600' it looks really small and since there is no hands off stability to this plane this makes me nervous...

The glide ratio has got to be about 4:1, and with the wind, it hardly rolls after landing.

Any old, bold pilots willing to give it a try?
