Our activity is so weather-dependent and the weather is so changeable, that our flying sessions are usually planned on pretty short notice.

If you'd like to have some company when you fly, you can easily start a flying session by scrolling to the bottom of this page and clicking on "Leave a reply" to this Topic. Just indicate the day, and time that you intend to arrive at the field, and invite other members to join you.

Or, you can "Leave a reply" to accept another person's invitation to form a flying session. People intending to join in should post a Reply, because multiple Replies fuel additional interest.

To "Leave a reply", you will need log in to the Message Board using the username and password that were issued to you. If you've lost them, you can use the lost your password functionality to trigger a password reset - if you do not see a response within a few minutes, be sure to check your Junk/SPAM folder for the password reset email.

If you are not able to complete a reset because your registered email address is not current you can either register with a new username OR Contact our Website Administrator Tim Glover <tglover51@hotmail.com> for additional assistance.

Note that new registrations require manual administrative review so there may be an additional delay if you choose this option.

The Weatherperson is now a little less optimistic about how nice Friday's flying conditions will be. The weather is currently pretty unstable, so I think I will check the forecast again early on Friday morning before setting off for the flying field. At that time I'll leave another note here indicating what my own plans are.

Here is the new forecast for Friday (as of Thursday afternoon):

This was the previous forecast for Friday (as of Wednesday morning).

The latest forecast doesn't look any worse, so I'm headed for the field to arrive around 10 AM

Planning on being at the field shortly before 9AM.

Good Adam, see you there and hope folks read the SOGGI email re informal contest. For those who have not:-

Sunday looks like a great flying day, clear skies and low winds. So anyone who wants to participate I thought we could make up for the Thanksgiving Contest multiple postponements..

For those who wish to join in a very informal contest; -

- As many rounds as you want to fly
- Score on max total time and average time per round
- Landing points score too
- LSF achievements for those who need it
- No classes, electric, Hi-start or winch, any wingspan

No pressure, relaxed and just have fun. If you don't want to record scores, still come along and fly anyway or help out.

I'll bring some score cards and we'll aim to start flying (contest wise) around 11 am, as it will be cool before then.

Hope to see you there, There won't be many more flying days this season.

Andy

Plan to be a the slope Friday morning for a couple of hours, arriving ~10:00 - 10:30. Forecast is northerly high 20s km/h. Might need gloves though.

Friday was suicidally windy, no kidding - would have needed a lead sled. So Dick and I shot the breeze (literally) for half an hour and gave up.

However, early days yet but Thursday might be promising.

The forecast looks reasonable for electrics or line launch. I hope to get there about 10 AM, and stay for an hour or two. Wear your woolies.

Base wind looks OK but I'm getting conflicting forecasts for the gusts, 1 OK, 1 too high. Regardless I'll be there ~10:15-10:30.
