Our activity is so weather-dependent and the weather is so changeable, that our flying sessions are usually planned on pretty short notice.

If you'd like to have some company when you fly, you can easily start a flying session by scrolling to the bottom of this page and clicking on "Leave a reply" to this Topic. Just indicate the day, and time that you intend to arrive at the field, and invite other members to join you.

Or, you can "Leave a reply" to accept another person's invitation to form a flying session. People intending to join in should post a Reply, because multiple Replies fuel additional interest.

To "Leave a reply", you will need log in to the Message Board using the username and password that were issued to you. If you've lost them, you can use the lost your password functionality to trigger a password reset - if you do not see a response within a few minutes, be sure to check your Junk/SPAM folder for the password reset email.

If you are not able to complete a reset because your registered email address is not current you can either register with a new username OR Contact our Website Administrator Tim Glover <tglover51@hotmail.com> for additional assistance.

Note that new registrations require manual administrative review so there may be an additional delay if you choose this option.

Afternoon!
Looking ahead on the Wind and Waves website, this coming Sunday looks favourable for some thermal seeking. Winds are predicted to be 11-13 kph, coming from the North West. Sunny with a high of 26C at 11 am. Could be hotter in the late afternoon. I have been repairing a few items picked up from the last session and I am ready to roll!

See you there!

Best,
Lyle

Wednesday, August 7/24 update:
It's not looking good at all on Friday weather wise for any flying at Burford. : ( Thursday looks better in that it will be sunny, but the winds will once again be at the higher end of flyable. So I am going to cancel any plans for flying this week and hope for more favourable conditions next week.

Best,

Lyle

Afternoon:
Once again the Wind & Waves app, is predicting light winds from the North West on Friday morning! BTW, I have yet to see light winds at Burford, but maybe this will be a first! : ) I will probably arrive around 9:30 am and depending on the heat, might stay until the early afternoon. Supposed to be a mix of sun and clouds and about 24C at 11 am.....so not too shabby!

Hoping to get some decent air time for my Introduction REF & X-RES! Lately, I'm not encountering much in the way of lift at our Burford field until about noon...ish.

I'll update this post on Thursday evening...hopefully the predictions hold...

Best,

Lyle

Morning!
Well, if the weather apps are to be believed, we have a number of excellent flying weather ahead of us this week. I can't make it on Tuesday, so I am going to shoot for a Wednesday session at the Burford field. I will be bringing a number of electric and line launch models to take advantage of the predicted low winds.

Best,

Lyle

Going to Burford for a flying session arriving around 10:00.
Will be flying electrics and DLG.
Come out and join me if you can as the winds look to be very light.
TerryK.

Will try to come out on Wednesday as well.

Morning!
I might be a wee bit late in getting to the field this morning, as I have to take my dog to the vets, some kind of ear infection....hopefully I can get him in first thing and still get back in time to head to the field.

Evening!
For once the winds were light as predicted at Burford this morning! Yay! Tomorrow the weather conditions are supposed to quite similar with the exception the winds will be from the South instead of from the North. I don't usually fly two days back to back, but I know Friday is supposed to be windy and the weekend is projected to be a washout. So I am planning on returning to the field tomorrow as well. Probably arriving after 9 am and packing up around 1 pm.

Hopefully, some of you can make it back...

Best,

Lyle
