Our activity is so weather-dependent and the weather is so changeable, that our flying sessions are usually planned on pretty short notice.

If you'd like to have some company when you fly, you can easily start a flying session by scrolling to the bottom of this page and clicking on "Leave a reply" to this Topic. Just indicate the day, and time that you intend to arrive at the field, and invite other members to join you.

Or, you can "Leave a reply" to accept another person's invitation to form a flying session. People intending to join in should post a Reply, because multiple Replies fuel additional interest.

To "Leave a reply", you will need log in to the Message Board using the username and password that were issued to you. If you've lost them, you can use the lost your password functionality to trigger a password reset - if you do not see a response within a few minutes, be sure to check your Junk/SPAM folder for the password reset email.

If you are not able to complete a reset because your registered email address is not current you can either register with a new username OR Contact our Website Administrator Tim Glover <tglover51@hotmail.com> for additional assistance.

Note that new registrations require manual administrative review so there may be an additional delay if you choose this option.

Andy: Good catch! Alright, ya got me! In all seriousness....up to now, I have been getting caught up in some powerful thermals and had to bail on a number of occasions because I really had no clue as to the actual height that I was flying at. Now at least, I can say okay 700' AGL....so that's what it looks like....time to bail!

I will miss you on Thursday, that is if the wind conditions are favourable! Just looking at the W&W site, this week, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday all look good for flying.

I will update tonight to see if the conditions are still favourable for Thursday.

Cheers!
Lyle

That's great! Yes, I just checked Wind & Waves and they are predicting great flying weather for tomorrow! I have a few errands again tomorrow and plan on arriving at the field around 11 am and will stay to about 2 pm.

I will bring my 2M Spectra back to see if I can find more thermals! Today at the field, the thermals were a challenge and the highest I was able to obtain was 530' AGL! The Spectra looked pretty small, so I should imagine 700' AGL will be at the limit of my visual contact! I have some repairs to make on my MadRES which I may be able make quickly and bring tomorrow. I will also go through my stash of line launchers to see if I have anything airworthy!

Cheers!

Morning!
Friday and Saturday both look favourable for flying. I have been working feverishly on my collection of old line launchers in preparation for Saturday's event. I plan on arriving early....8 am.ish, to set up the hi-starts before the heat builds. I have prepared about seven planes and I don't know If I will have room in my van for all of 'em but I gonna try! : )

I'm hoping that heavy rain we received on Tuesday might have soften the field up a wee bit. It's like landing on grass covered concrete! : )

Hope to see you there!

Lyle

Looks like decent conditions at least in the morning. Winds are predicted to pick up a lot in the afternoon! Hopefully, Terry K or others will join you. I can't make it unfortunately.

Have fun and enjoy the moment!

Morning!
Nice refreshing drop in humidity and temperatures after the cold front blew through the area last night. Tuesday's conditions look really good with 7-11kph winds from the east.

I'm only going to bring my 2M MadRES, F3RES to the field as I need to get it sorted out before the weekend contest.

Anyone else around that might be able to join me?

Cheers!
Lyle
