On Saturday June 2, 2012, Aircraft Spruce (Canada) will be hosting an "Open House and Fly-in" for pilots and general aviation enthusiasts at their Brantford Airport facility. Aircraft Spruce is a well known supplier of materials for full-scale-home-built aircraft, and for the general aviation market. Some of their products should also be of interest to aircraft modellers.

SOGGI has been invited by Aircraft Spruce to provide a static display of our model aircraft, videos, photographs, literature etc. and we are pleased to be able to do so. We do not yet have a full list of other organizations who will be represented, but I will post that information as soon as it becomes available. We expect there will be many interesting things to see. We also hope to meet some full-scale aviation enthusiasts who share our flying-model interest.

Aircraft Spruce is even providing a "Vendor" Appreciation dinner on the Friday night before Saturday's Open House. They do ask that "vendors" (i.e. SOGGI) provide at least one gift for the Open House hourly raffle. The raffle profit goes to the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA) who fund "COPA for Kids", their youth-in-aviation program.

We still need a few SOGGI volunteers to set up our display, staff our booth and for tear down afterwards. We have been promised (6) seats for these folks at Aircraft Spruce's Vendor Appreciation Dinner.
