This was the first of our bi-weekly, altitude-limited electric-sailplane (ALES) contests for 2017. Dick Colley encountered immediate technical difficulties which prevented him out from competing, but he remained on hand to act as Timer, and to provide moral support. Our remaining four contestants dealt with somewhat variable lift conditions. We all had fun, which was the main point of the exercise anyway.
Thank you Lyle Jeakins for some great photos of the action. Some of Lyle's photos can be seen below, provided you log in to this Message Board.
The final results were:
1st Place Adam Maas with 3110 Flight Points plus 240 Landing points for a total score of of 3350
2nd Place Bob Hammett with 2549 Flight Points plus 380 Landing points for a total score of of 2929
3rd Place Ann Tekatch with 1987 Flight Points plus 110 Landing points for a total score of of 2097
4th Place Mike Sherlaw with 1445 Flight Points plus 0 Landing points for a total score of of 1445
Congratulations Adam, for a convincing performance and a well deserved victory.
Sorry for the delay in posting the results. It was a busy week for me and I'm still playing catch-up.
