NEW AND IMPROVED PROCEDURE:
In this Forum, Contest Directors (or Special Event Directors) are invited to report RESULTS from Contests (or Events) that have already occurred.

UPCOMING Contests and Events are ADVERTISED on our WEBSITE's rolling Calendar of Events. That way, events will automatically be maintained in chronological order, and then deleted from our Calendar of Events after their scheduled date has passed.
To include an event on the SOGGI calendar please contact the Special Events Organizer via the Contacts page on the SOGGI website.

General FYI stuff...

Post by Ray M » Fri May 10, 2013 5:11 pm

Hi All
The Trinity Church Road field, is slowly being de-nuded, and will at sometime become un-flyable.
Permission to use it is still granted by Myron, but I would suggest that free-flight, rubber power
or 2.4 Ghz only be flown there. The 2.4 G would present the least problems to frequency cross-over
with the flying at Fletcher field.

For the rest of 2013, (like there's a lot left..!!), all club programs will be at the Fletcher Rd. site.
The path in, is passable, the SOGGI sign has been posted at the entrance, parking lot grass has been cut,
{thanks Jim Laslett, Dick Colley} and hopefully the 'clubhouse' will be in place by next weeks end.

If you haven't received the message regarding tomorrows planned Winch Training day, Ma Nature has
decide that it should NOT take place. We will try for the other date, Thursday 23rd.

A tid bit of pertinent info. While at the field, I was approached by a Hamilton City agent, who indicated
that the parking area and woods on it, now belong to the City...!! His only concern was that outsiders had
been dumping trash there. It seemed I was able to assure him that we are an asset to his cause, and as well
he was OK with the positioning of the clubhouse.. as we had done it in the past. Any interest they have
in the property is further 'down the road'.. so we can enjoy our nice flat field.

The field itself is sparse grass with a fair amount of dirt between the clumps. There are a few areas further
out in the field where the grass is more closely bunched, and provides an adequate landing zone. Suggest
that tape under the nose for wear and tear is not a bad idea.

See you all standing in the dirt, staring up a something in the air..

Ray
